HCC-KEC Awarded Chennai Metro Line-5’s Contract for C5-ECV-03
Hindustan Construction Company – KEC International (HCC-KEC) JV on Friday was awarded Chennai Metro Phase 2’s Rs. 1122 crore contract for Package C5-ECV-03 on the 47 km Line-5 (Madhavaram – Sholinganallur).
The consortium had emerged as the lowest bidder for the 11.61 km Puzhuthivakkam – Sholinganallur section in September, narrowly beating Larsen & Toubro and NCC. This section consists of 11 elevated stations at the extreme southern end of Line-5.

Brief Scope: Construction of Elevated Viaduct of Approximately 11.61 km length from Ch: 33710 m to 45320 m between Puzhuthivakkam Metro Station (excluding) and beyond Elcot Metro station including Construction of 11 Nos (Eleven Numbers) of Elevated Stations at Madipakkam, Kilkattalai, Echangadu, Kovilambakkam, Vellakkal, Medavakkam Koot Road, Kamaraj Garden Street, Medavakkam Junction, Perumbakkam, Global Hospital and Elcot and all associated works in Corridor-5 of Chennai Metro Rail Project- Phase-2
With this and the other 2 recent contracts to L&T, CMRL has now awarded 4 out of 5 civil packages dedicated to Line-5. Here’s a list north to south:
Package CP10-EV-03 – 10.2 km viaduct, 11 elevated stations and 1 underground station between CMBT and Venugopal Nagar | Awarded to L&T in Nov 2021 |
Package UG6 – 5.8 km underground section with 5 stations from Kolathur and Nathamuni | L&T is lowest bidder |
Package C5-ECV-02 – 12.431 km elevated section from CMBT to Alwartiru Nagar and from Porur Junction to Puzhuthivakkam with 12 stations | Awarded to L&T in Nov 2021 |
Lines 4 & 5: Package C4-ECV-01 – 7.955 km elevated section from Power House to Porur Junction with 9 stations | Awarded to Larsen & Toubro in May 2021 |
Package C5-ECV-03 – 11.61 km elevated section with 11 stations from Puzhuthivakkam to Sholinganallur | Awarded to HCC-KEC in Nov (this post!) |

No, in the website they are having only for half of the corridor inspite of starting the work. Also, they are not having the drawings. Please suggest a way to get it fully.
