Afcons Infrastructure this weekend celebrated the launch of their final of approximately 2000 segments for constructing Nagpur Metro’s 7.144 km Reach-2 (Sitabuldi – Automotive Square).

This section of the 38.215 km Nagpur Metro Phase 1 project’s Orange Line on Kamptee Road consists of 7 elevated stations and a 4.375 km double decker viaduct which includes a 4 level structure at Gaddigodam Square. Trial Assembly and load testing for its open web girder bridge was in fact just completed last week – see details & snaps.

Afcons was awarded a Rs. 573 crore contract for Reach-2 in October 2017 with a 120 week (2.3 year) deadline. Construction work started in November 2017.

With this development, viaduct work on Phase 1 is now pending only at Orange Line Reach-2’s Gaddigodam Railway Crossing and on Aqua Line Reach-4’s 1.6 km Vaishno Devi – Prajapati Nagar section where another double-decker viaduct is being constructed.
