December 29, 2021 Original Post:14 construction firms have submitted bids to build the 45.244 km Package 2 of the 62.7 km Kanpur – Lucknow Expressway (NE-6) project after the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) opened technical bids.
This 6 lane access-controlled highway will be upgradeable to 8 lanes and connect Shaheed Path in Lucknow with Azad Marg Chauraha near Kanpur’s Ganga Bridge. Package 2 connecting the town of Bani with Azad Marg Chauraha will be built on a greenfield alignment parallel to the existing NH27.
NHAI invited tenders for its construction under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) model in September 2021 with a 2.5 year deadline and Rs. 1724.67 crore estimate.

Brief Scope: Construction of Six lane upgradable to Eight lane of Kanpur Lucknow Expressway including spur from Km 28+500 to Km 73+744 in the state of Uttar Pradesh on Hybrid Annuity mode under Bharatmala Pariyojana (Package 2)
All 14 bids have now been sent for technical bid evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor for this package.
