GR Infra Wins Delhi Mumbai Expressway Jaipur Spur’s Contract

March 28, 2022 Original Post: GR Infraprojects Ltd. today emerged as the lowest bidder to construct and operate the 67 km Bandikui – Jaipur spur of the 1350 km Delhi – Mumbai Expressway (DME) project.
This 6 lane access-controlled spur’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) was prepared by SA Infrastructure Consultants. Its alignment lies entirely within Rajasthan and will have a 60m right of way (ROW).
The project’s pre-feasibility report can be viewed here, and NHAI’s stated main objective for its development is to reduce the travel time from Delhi-NCR to Jaipur.
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) invited tenders for its contract in December 2021 with a 1313.82 crore estimate and 910 day (2.5 year) deadline. Technical bids were opened on March 8 to reveal 13 bidders.

Brief Scope: Construction of 6 Lane Greenfield spur from Delhi Vadodara Greenfield expressway near Bandikui to Jaipur in Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-I on HAM in Rajasthan
GR’s bid of Rs. 1368 crore was just slightly higher than NHAI’s estimate, but well within their permissible limit, so a contract should be awarded in the coming weeks.
Their announcement to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) – view letter – indicates the project will be built in a 4 lane configuration.
As shared earlier, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project has a few other spurs in the works:
- 92 km JNPT spur in Maharashtra. Status: 4/5 tenders have been awarded.
- 30 km connectivity to Noida’s Jewar International Airport from DND-Faridabad-Ballabhagh Bypass Spur. Status: Current technical bid opening date is April 13.
- 130 km Ujjain Spur connecting Garoth – Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. Status: 3 civil contracts awarded.

Yes, the Nation needs speedier decision making and implementation.
For years, we have been rather slow and sluggish.
Nhai has yearly targets for project award.. normally u will see nhai working hard n fast in march to meet targets of financial year..
Yeah.. would love too. But then metro constructions involves more technicalities than expressway construction so maybe thats why it takes more time to evaluate technical bids.
Financial bids are opened of only those selected bidders who qualify based on technical evaluation.
I think all are seasoned bidders having their qualification already established. I’m guessing that’s the reason for the quick TAT.

4 lanes per GRIL’s letter. I don’t have a detailed alignment at this time.
Correct your information about Ujjain spur. All three packages of Ujjain to Garoth 134 Km have been awarded.

Interesting, any more details? Is this the same as Jalbehra-Shahbad (NH-152G) ?
It will start from where NH-148B(extension of NH152D) ends on the Delhi-Jaipur highway i.e. paniyala mod to Badoda Meo in Alwar district meeting the D-M Expressway there. Road will be of around 86 Kms. Don’t know much about the development since the announcement. Share any news about this if you can!?!
