L&T Awarded Chennai Peripheral Ring Road’s EPC-02 Contract

In a BSE filing, Larsen & Toubro has announced they’ve been awarded 12.80 km Package EPC-02 of the 133.38 km Chennai Peripheral Ring Road‘s Section 2 by Tamil Nadu Road Development Company (TNRDC).

This 6 lane access-controlled segment of Chennai’s 4th ring road will connect Punnapakkam to Thiruvallur Bypass with paved shoulders and two lane service roads on both sides It will have a 60m right of way (RoW) with a 8.50m wide median.

TNRDC originally invited tenders in December 2020 financed by AIIB and OFOD through a combined USD 478 million loan. KNR Constructions was the lowest bidder in that round, but their bid was rejected as it was substantially higher than TNRDC’s estimate. Fresh bids were re-invited shortly after with a 36 month completion deadline.

If someone has bid values for the qualified bidders, then leave a comment below or shoot me a message via the Contact page. I’d like to add it in here for record keeping.
