ETA Wins Delhi Metro Silver Line’s E&M, ECS & TVS Contract DE-11

February 15, 2023 Update: DMRC has awarded ETA Engineering – Polycab India JV with Package DE-11’s contract with a value of Rs. 183,61,69,629.00

January 24, 2023 Original Post: ETA Engineering – Polycab India JV earlier this month was declared as the lowest bidder to install the electrical and mechanical system, environment control system and tunnel ventilation system at 4 underground stations of Delhi Metro’s 23.622 km Silver Line (Line-10).

This mostly underground line of Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 project in South Delhi will connect Aerocity – Tughalakabad via 16 stations. 12 of those stations will be underground and are being constructed through civil packages DC-07 (Afcons Infrastructure), DC-08 (J Kumar Infraprojects) and DC-09 (Larsen & Toubro).

The package’s brief scope doesn’t name the 4 stations, but I hear they’re Aerocity, Mahipalpur, Vasant Kunj and Kishangarh. If someone can confirm, then drop a comment below.

DMRC had invited tenders for this contract DE-11, funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in July 2022 with a 2.95 year deadline and unknown estimate. Technical bids were opened in October 2022 to reveal 7 bidders.

DMRC’s budgeted estimate remains unknown to me, so I can’t provide an assessment on the chances of a contract getting awarded. We’ll have to wait and watch to see how this plays out.

The line has another similar but larger system package (DE-10) that includes 7 underground and 4 elevated stations between Chhatarpur and Tughlakabad. Technical bid evaluation for that is currently underway since October 2022.
