8 Bidders for Kochi Metro Phase 2’s General Consultant Contract
8 firms have submitted bids for Kochi Metro Phase 2’s General Consultant (GC) contract after Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) opened technical bids today.
This consultancy contract is the second significant pre-construction contract for Phase 2 which will feature a 11.2 km new elevated corridor, named Pink Line, with 11 stations connecting JLN Stadium – Kakkanad – Infopark (Smart City).
Prior to this, KMRL had tried appointing a Project Management Consultant (PMC) in 2021, but cancelled the bidding process due to “administrative reasons/issues”
KMRL had invited tenders for the GC contract in November 2022 and expects the assigned GC to be onboard for 1095 days (3 years).
Note that some of the bidders mentioned below may be in a joint venture with others. If you’re aware of all members in each consortia, then drop a comment below or send me a message using the contact page.

Brief Scope: General Consultant (GC) for Phase- II Corridor from JLN Stadium to Infopark via Kakkanad of Kochi Metro Rail Project
Pink Line’s 11 stations will come up at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium (new station box next to Blue Line), Palarivattom Junction, Palarivattom Bypass, Chembumukku, Vazhakkala, Padamughal (formerly Kunnumpuram), Kakkanad Junction, Cochin SEZ (Special Economic Zone), Chittethukara, KINFRA (formerly Rajagiri), and InfoPark / Smart City (connected to Kochi Water Metro). As mentioned in the past, a station planned at InfoPark 1 is no longer in the works.
The GC’s appointment like always will likely be on the QCBS (Quality and Cost Based Selection) basis with a two stage (technical & financial score-based) process getting adopted for evaluating proposals.
Prior to this, KMRL had appointed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for Phase 1 (Aluva to Petta) and Aarvee Associates for Phase 1B (SN Junction to Thripunithura)’s PMC roles.

– TMRG
Hi TMRG, it does seem true that MMRDA has posted a tender for civil works of Mumbai Metro Line 12. Last date for tender is 12.04 and the value is 783 crores. It is for a stretch that consists of 9 elevated stations and the package name is CA-185. This is what I could find online which I posted on my Drive as PDF https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IDFtlOEmTBWb0DYHGua6oIFkrtKX687I/view?usp=share_link
Yeah, it’s true, but is it just for stns or both Viaducts and stns ?
Not a native Marathi speaker so I used the Google translate feature of translating pictures. At first glance, it does seem that it is for viaducts and stations!
This is super interesting. Not sure how they published this without a detailed design consultant preparing designs. Maybe MMRDA’s internal team worked on it.
Interstation distance can be increased. (1.5 kms to 2 kms) provided good walkway.
when interstation distance higher, travel will be faster. but some one has to make sure to connect between stations. we should not commit the same mistakes happen in Pulinchoodu, companypady, Ambattukavu
& Muttom. passenger collection points should be identified based on reliable data.
