As always, MMRDA will invite bids for architectural finishing & pre-engineered building (PEB) steel roof structure of stations at a later stage. Looking at CA-186’s scope, it appears that this line’s depot will now come up at Vadavali instead of at Pisarve as originally planned.
Back in December 2022, SYSTRA MVA Consulting – DB Engineering & Consulting JV was awarded Line-10 and Line-12’s General Consultant contract. Bidding is currently underway for appointing its Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) and MMRDA currently plans to open bids on March 20.

It seems MMRDA never learns from past. This package construction will also be snail paced. It will take at least 10 to 15 years for finishing and commissioning.
100%Right
What about metro line #14 badlapur to kanjurmarg via Airoli ? Unless untill metro line 14 completes whole metro construction will be unfinished. Because everyone who stays beyond kalyan will come and struck up at kalyan.however i kindly request you to give priority or construct metro line 14 along with metro line# 5.metro line 14 will ease railways current burden drastically….
Line-14’s supposed to be developed on PPP. There hasn’t been any movement on its bidding.
1) Do you think Line 5 Tender’s notice Bhiwandi to Kalyan section is around the corner?
2) any update when will they open Financial Bids of Metro 4&5 Depot.
1) Anybody’s guess. Hoping it is 🙂
2) No idea, will post when they do
Thanks TMRG for mentioning me! I do not however understand the logic of pushing this line before 5B…that’s going to take much longer since part of it is underground.
True that. But a part of me is also a big proponent of – “why wait?”
I agree with that. Mumbai needs a dense network of metro lines yesterday and I am happy that priority is being given to multiple areas. I just hope that this does not stretch MMRDA’s resources too thin and other important lines get delayed. Let’s see, I hope 5b tenders and system contracts including depot and rolling stock are finalised before 2024 elections.
Ritvick bro there was a news report that MMRDA is currently waiting for approval of Govt to take some part of this line underground due to narrow road & LA Problems.

Bid opening date means the date when mmrda will open the bids it has recieved. Till that time then no one knows who all have submitted the bids. I hope I could make it clear
