18 Bidders for Atal Progressway (Chambal Expressway)’s Package 5

18 firms have submitted bids to construct 59 km Package 5 of 408.77 km Atal Progressway (Chambal Expressway) after National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) opened technical bids on Tuesday.

This 4 lane greenfield expressway under Bharatmala Pariyojna (BMP)’s Lot-4/Pkg-4 will connect NH-27 in Seemalya Village near Kota district, Rajasthan with Nanawa village in Etwawah district, Uttar Pradesh.

The project’s alignment on the southern bank of Chambal River will pass through economically poorer regions of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Its Detailed Project Report (DPR) was prepared by L.N. Malviya Infra Projects – Pioneer Infra Consultants JV.

NHAI had invited tenders for Package 5’s civil construction contract in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district under Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) in January 2023 with a 2 year deadline.

The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which will take about a month to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.

With this development, technical bid evaluation is underway for 4 packages (3, 4, 5 & 6), while tender notices are pending for approximately 190 kms of roadway which will be divided into anywhere between 5-7 packages.
