Bids Invited for Kanpur Metro’s KNPCC-12 Elevated Contract on Line-2

Besides Agra Metro’s Package AGCC-05, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) on Monday also invited tenders for the civil construction work of Package KNPCC-12 on 8.38 km Kanpur Metro Line-2 (Agriculture University – Barra-8).

4.3 km long Package KNPCC-12 of 32.38 km Kanpur Metro Phase 1 project consists of 2 disjointed sections on either side of underground Package KNPCC-11 for whose construction KPIL – Gulermak JV was declared as the lowest bidder in October 2023.

At 3.745 km, the southern section’s viaduct will connect Double Pullia Ramp and Barra-8 with 4 elevated stations at Vijay Nagar Chauraha, Shastri Chowk, Barra-7 Station and Barra-8. Looking at the tender’s scope, I see a station originally planned at Jaruali is no longer in the works.

On the northern-end of the line, past Rawatpur Interchange Station, a small 557.8m viaduct will be built with one elevated station at Agriculture University next to Line-2’s Agriculture University Depot.

UPMRC’s Brief Scope: Design and Construction of elevated viaduct and 5 Nos. elevated stations (viz. Agriculture University Station, Vijay Nagar Chauraha Station, Shastri Chowk Station, Barra-7 Station & Barra-8 Station) including Architectural Finishing, E&M work and special spans from end of ramp after Double Pullia Station to Barra-8 Station i.e., from chainage 3783.000m to 7528.566m and end of ramp in Depot to Agriculture University Station i.e. from Chainage (-)297.460m to (-)855.339 on Corridor-2 of Kanpur MRTS Project at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India

This package was designed by SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India), the Detailed Design Consultants (DDC) of Line-2.
