Bids Invited for Kanpur Metro Agriculture University Depot’s Contract KNPCC-14

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) on Monday invited bids for the civil construction and system installation work at Kanpur Metro Phase 1 project’s Agriculture University Depot & Workshop (Package KNPCC-14).

This train maintenance facility will be built on a 37.69 acre parcel within Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology. It will house an undisclosed number of 3 coach Alstom MOVIA train-sets for Kanpur Metro’s 8.38 km Line-2 which will connect Agriculture University – Barra-8) via 8 stations.

The depot will be connected to the main-line via 4.3 km Package KNPCC-12’s 557.8m northern section (Ramp – Agriculture University) for which bidding is underway.

• Deadline: 18 months
• Estimated Cost: Rs. 113.20 Crore
• Pre-bid Meeting: November 23, 2023 at 3 PM
• Bid Submission Deadline: December 11 at 3 PM
• Technical Bid Opening: December 13 at 3 PM

UPMRC’s Brief Scope: Civil, PEB and E&M works for construction of depot cum workshop, including structural, architectural, plumbing, drainage, external development, road works, electrical, mechanical, VAC, fire fighting, fire detection etc. at Agricultural University Kanpur for Agricultural University to Barra-8 Corridor-2 of Kanpur Metro

Kanpur Metro’s Line-2 is an extremely short line, so I imagine UPMRC will stable only 8-10 train-sets at this depot.

This is the 3rd and final civil package for Line-2’s construction. Overall, it’s the 8th and final civil tender notice for Kanpur Metro Phase 1’s mainline and depots.
