18 Firms Qualify for Maharashtra’s New Expressway Projects’ Work

This development is from December and might not be news to some of you, but anyways – eighteen firms in December-end 2023 qualified for the civil construction work of 3 upcoming expressways in Maharashtra.

The 3 new access-controlled highway projects by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) include the construction of 179.85 km Jalna – Nanded Expressway, 136.80 km Pune Ring Road, and 126 km Virar – Alibaug Multi-Modal Corridor connecting Navghar – Balavali around Mumbai city.

MSRDC had invited RfQ applications for their civil construction in April 2023 and opened bids in June 2023 to reveal 28 firms had applied to qualify to the next RFP round. Evaluation was completed on December 28, 2023.

Many of these firms were or are currently involved in the construction of 701 km Mumbai – Nagpur Expressway (Samruddhi Mahamarg or ME-2) project.

MSRDC last week issued RFP documents to the 18 qualified firms inviting them to bid for the civil construction of all 3 expressways’ packages. Each package comes with a 900 day construction deadline.

The current bid submission deadline is March 1 with bids planned to be opened on March 4. Unless MSRDC revises the submission deadline, then look out for a post from me around that timeframe.

    Virar-Alibag project has been going on for ages, when all major cities in India have already got Ring Roads many years back.

    Hey TMRG, the notice for Pune Ring Road W4 was uploaded at the same time as the others, it’s just that the title on the Mahatenders page was incomplete.
