Ayesa Wins Bhopal & Indore Metros’ E&M DDC Contract BH-IN-21

Ayesa India was today declared as the lowest bidder for the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract for electrical & mechanical (E&M) systems of Indore Metro and Bhopal Metro Phase 1 projects.

This DDC contract BH-IN-21 by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Co Limited (MPMRCL) includes 9 underground stations and 24 elevated stations within the following 5 civil packages:

  • Bhopal MetroBH-03 (6 elevated stations) & BH-04 (2 underground stations) on Orange Line, and BH-05 (13 elevated stations) on Blue Line
  • Indore MetroIN-04 (5 elevated stations) and IN-O5 (7 underground stations) on Yellow Line

The DDC appointed by MPMRCL will be responsible for producing and proposing alternate designs of electrical and mechanical works.

MPMRCL had invited bids for this consultancy service in September 2023 with a Rs. 15.07 crore estimate and 4.4 year contract duration. Technical bids were opened in January 2024 to reveal 6 bidders.

During evaluation, bids submitted by LKT – Lombardi JV and STUP Consultants – RINA Consulting JV were found technically non-compliant to the tender’s conditions and were disqualified.

Ayesa’s bid of Rs. 11.89 crore was well below MPMRCL’s Rs. 15.07 crore estimate. so a contract should be awarded in the coming weeks without a long financial bid evaluation period.

Civil construction contracts have been awarded for packages BH-03, BH-04 and IN-04, technical evaluation is underway for BH-05, while bidding is underway for Indore Metro’s 8.6 km underground package IN-05. The current bid submission deadline is July 11 with technical bids scheduled to open the same day.
