6 Bidders for Bhopal & Indore Metros’ E&M DDC Contract BH-IN-21

Six firms have submitted bids for the Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) contract for electrical & mechanical (E&M) systems of Indore Metro and Bhopal Metro projects after technical bids were opened last week.

This DDC contract BH-IN-21 by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Co Limited (MPMRCL) includes 9 underground stations and 24 elevated stations within the following 5 civil packages:

  • Bhopal MetroBH-03 (6 elevated stations) & BH-04 (2 underground stations) on Orange Line, and BH-05 (13 elevated stations) on Blue Line
  • Indore MetroIN-04 (5 elevated stations) and IN-O5 (7 underground stations) on Yellow Line

The DDC appointed by MPMRCL will be responsible for producing and proposing alternate designs of electrical and mechanical works.

MPMRCL had invited bids for this consultancy service in September 2023 with a Rs. 15.07 crore estimate and 4.4 year contract duration.

The bids are currently undergoing technical evaluation. When completed, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely consultant.

Back in November 2023, MPMRCL received 5 bids for the same 33 stations’ Design Verification Engineer (DVE) contract.

In December, RVNL – URCC JV was declared as the lowest bidder to construct Indore Metro’s package IN-04, while URCC was the lowest bidder for Bhopal’s BH-03. Technical bid evaluation is still underway for packages BH-04 and BH-05. Check out each link for a brief scope and list of bidders.

A tender notice is still pending for Indore Metro’s underground package IN-05’s construction work. That 8.626 km long underground section will connect Indore Railway Station and Indore Airport via 7 stations.
