RRTS Station at Jor Bagh Moved to INA on Delhi – SNB Line
Per an updated map on the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC)’s website, the operator has officially modified the alignment of its 106 km Delhi – SNB RRTS line within Delhi where it’ll run underground between Sarai Kale Khan and Gurgaon’s IDPL Complex Ramp on the Delhi – Haryana border.
The station earlier approved to come up at Jor Bagh has now been moved roughly 1.5 km south to INA. The file’s URL address indicates the new revised map was uploaded in March 2020.
This is a super exciting development and something I’ve always wanted as this’ll now allow easy transfers to the Delhi Metro’s Pink Line in addition to the Yellow Line which is serviced by both Jor Bagh and INA stations.
With its eastern terminal at Sarai Kale Khan, this semi high-speed rail line will consist of 3 new stations within Delhi at INA (interchange for Pink & Yellow lines), Munirka (interchange for Magenta line) and Aerocity (interchange for Airport Express and Phase 4’s upcoming Aerocity-Tughlakabad lines) as shown below:
The Delhi – SNB RRTS line’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) with Jor Bagh as a station was approved for construction by the NCRTC’s board in December 2018, Haryana Government in February 2019 and Rajasthan Government in June 2019.
Since then, bids for only 1 section have been invited & opened to reveal GR Infraprojects as the lowest bidder for the 8.5 km Gurugram (IDPL Complex – Rajiv Chowk) section with 3 elevated sections.
For the section south of Gurugram, NCRTC awarded Continental Piling & Excavation Pvt. Ltd. with 2 contracts for initial pile load tests in March & December 2019, and on this Thursday opened bids for the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) service for 7 stations and Dharuhera Depot.

Finally it seems like this corridor will see construction started on ground before End of the Year.
Jor Bagh never made sense. It’s a residential colony with nothing going on around it.
As far as I understand the topology of the INA station and surrounding areas. The RRTS station is likely to come up on the North end of the blue line station. And it would be long walk for pax transiting from pink line to the RRTS station and vice versa.
Will it be integrated with Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon? Zoomed in to check, Udyog Vihar RRTSstation seems to be atleast 1 KM away from nearest Rapid metro station.
No integration for now. They’re too far apart, as you saw.
I don’t think Haryana govt is interested in extending RMRG’s line further north from Cybercity or keen to develop any other line in the city.

Yes…agreed…apart from Rapid metro….harayana govt. has shown least interest in expanding metro in gurgaon…on UP govt. is expanding metro in noida nd other adjoining districts at rapid speed

Yes, it is disappointing.
Delhi metro Yellow line must be further increased in Gurgaon, along with Orange Airport Express line to provide direct Gurgaon-IGIA connectivity.
Integration with other modes, especially RRTS is essential.
2-3 lines of Rapid Metro necessary to cover the length of Gurgaon East to West.

Would love to, but I don’t have the muscle power or clout. Haryana govt across party lines has wasted an entire decade doing nothing.
I had even run a change.org petition for a year but nothing came out of it. Haryana should invest in metro systems and integrate / extend all the metro linea
It may be worth the investment to extend proposed Gurgaon – Faridabad metro in both directions. In Gurgaon from Vatika Chowk to Rajiv Chowk/Sector 15 (RRTS Station) and in Faridabad from Bata Chowk to Zewar airport. Extension could be part funded by the airport operator, who could recover the his investment as a revenue share from the traffic.
The problem with our planners is that each of these entities/consultants think individually, there is no integrated view. Therefore, in several cases the infra investments are underutilized. In this particular case GGN-FBD link is HR Government initiative and Zewar airport is being developed by UP Government.
