Colossus Awarded Mumbai Metro Line-2B’s E&M Contract CA-249
Colossus Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd. earlier this month was awarded a Rs. 33.95 crore contract for electrical & mechanical works at 5 stations of Mumbai Metro’s 23.6 km Line-2B (Yellow Line) connecting DN Nagar – BKC – Mandale.
These 5 elevated stations are located at Diamond Nagar, Shivaji-Chowk, BSNL, Mankhurd and Mandale. Their civil construction contract (Package CA-07) was awarded to NCC Ltd. in April 2019 after several rounds of re-bidding and the first set of U-girders was launched in January 2020.
Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) had invited bids for the line’s E&M contract (Package CA-249) in February 2024 with a Rs. 30.04 crore estimate and 1008 day (2.7 year) deadline. Technical bids were opened on May 31 to reveal 2 bidders and their financial bids were opened on June 18.
Financial Bid Values
Firm | Bid (Rs. Crore) |
Colossus | 35.60 |
Jakson | 37.99 |
MMRDA’s Brief Scope: Design, manufacture, supply, testing, commissioning and training of personnel and 2 years DLP for E and M works of Line 2B Mandale to Diamond Garden of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA
Colossus’ bid was Rs. 18.50% higher than MMRDA’s estimate of Rs. 30.04 crore. Following negotiations, they both agreed to a final contract value of Rs. 33,95,06,966 (33.95 crore).
Here’s a copy of the Letter of Acceptance (LOA):
In addition, Johnson Lifts has been awarded two contracts for the same Mandale – Diamond Garden section:
- Package CA-250: Escalators (Rs. 25.85 crore)
- Package CA-251: Lift / Elevators (Rs. 9.45 crore)
Mandale – Diamond Garden with 5 stations will be the first section to open up on Line-2B, which at this time I see happening no sooner than Q1 2026.

As always excellent info.
However a small error has crept in. The station name is Diamond Garden & not Diamond Nagar.
It has been mentioned correctly in the story, but the map it needs a tweak.
Thanks for the lovely updates

I stay near New Mankhurd metro station, where I see work is done like 🐢, and you correctly said that this is happening no sooner than Q1 2026.
