DMRC Invites Bids for Delhi Metro Pink Line’s Trilokpuri Stretch
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited bids from civil infrastructure companies for the construction of the 58.596 km Pink Line’s incomplete 255m viaduct (package CC-125) which will pass through the residential district of Trilokpuri’s Block-15.
Construction work on this section, part of package CC-26R between Mayur Vihar – Karkarduma, was originally awarded to the ITD-ITD Cem JV on November 9 2012, and after major delays in securing land for its construction, it appears that ITD has backed out of constructing the remaining section in order to save money (equipment rentals, worker salary etc) as well as to shift their focus to newer projects in Mumbai, Bangalore and Nagpur.
The Trilokpuri section of the line has been on-hold since 2013 when local residents from the adjacent blocks 16-18 refused to accommodate Block-15’s affected residents on a nearby patch of land – read all about the contentious issue here. The DMRC is currently constructing new rehab apartments for the affected residents, and demolition work for the line’s eventual construction will begin as soon as the affected residents move there later this year.
Notice Inviting Tenders (CC-125)
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Ltd. invites limited e-tenders from pre-qualified applicants, who fulfill qualification criteria as stipulated in Clause 1.1.3 of NIT, for the work “Design & construction of Elevated Viaduct of length 255.018 RM in Trilokpuri (from Ch. 39070.117 m to 39325.135 m) along with already constructed Metro Viaduct of Line-7 of MukundpurShiv Vihar corridor of Phase-III Delhi MRTS
– link to notice
The notice is addressed to 6 civil contractors who’re in the process of building or wrapping up construction on other sections of the 160 km Phase 3 project as they’ve already got the requisite manpower and resources available. The list includes: (1) JMC-CHEC JV, (2) ITD ITD Cem JV, (3) CICO-YFC JV, (4) S.P. Singla Construction Pvt. Ltd. ,(5) Vijay Nirman Company Pvt. Ltd. and (6) Arvind Techno-Globe JV.
DMRC has estimated this package to cost Rs 10.86 crores and would like work to be completed within 8 months of the Letter of Award (LoA). The last date for submitting tender documents for bidding is May 8 2017 (3 pm) after which the bids will be opened & evaluated for eligibility on May 9 at 3 pm. Financial bids are expected to be opened in Q3 2017 and as I mentioned above, construction work will and can only start after (1) temporary rehab apartments are built, and (2) affected residents move out, hopefully by the end of the year. That said, the Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 – Trilokpuri – Vinod Nagar East – Vinod Nagar section will only open up towards the end of 2018 with a good possibility of things spilling into 2019.

Share some light on magenta line as well
Hi, my thoughts on it from the Hasanpur post:
1) Botanical Garden – Kalkaji: Should open in June or max July. Finishing works at Kalkaji and NSIC are the bottleneck.
2) Janakpuri – IGI: Should open up before the end of the year
3) Kalkaji – IGI: Should open up before March next year
There’s a possibility of the entire underground section opening in one go. Let’s see.
How does the DMRC plan to make Janakpuri West- Airport section separately operational without the section having any connectivity with the Kalindi Kunj depot?
IGI-Kalkaji’s tunnels have been built. Connectivity to the depot will be established after track-work and electrification is completed. DMRC opened the Yellow line’s Gurgaon section in a similar fashion:
21 June 2010: Qutub Minar – Huda City Centre – 14.5 km
03 Sept 2010: Central Secretariat – Qutub Minar – 12.5 km
2019.. cant believe delhi metro will be delayed this long.. well not a fault of DMRC, but certainly a loss for the people of delhi.
But TMRG, if the tirlokpuri people will move out and viaduct will be contructed there, then why DMRC is building a reversal station at Mayur Vihar???? Plz reply
Hi, they’re not building a station, but only adding a train-reversal or track-change mechanism to allow trains to switch lines so that operations run smoothly at a good, acceptable frequency.
The old plan called for a train-reversal system at Nizamuddin. That would have forced DMRC to run single line operations between Nizamuddin – Mayur Vihar – Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 with a horrible frequency of 10-15 minutes! Basically only 1 train would have been able to leave Nizamuddin for east Delhi and come back using the same line. This would have then affected operations on the entire line. With the train-reversal system at Mayur Vihar Pocket-1, now multiple trains will be able to go from Nizamuddin, switch tracks and come back via the parallel track.
OK…thanks for th info
OK…thanks for the info
How much time Will it take to complete the construction of rehabilitation flats in trilokpuri. And please upload the images of johri enclave and shiv vihar stations. What is the status of the last part of this line. Ip extension to shiv vihar.
Rehab apartments are under construction and will definitely be ready this year. Which month? I’m not sure. I post images on Twitter – will share if/when I have them.
Yesterday got a chance to visit entire pink line east ward lots of pending work remains especially at IP , trilokpuri, adjacent areas may well take one year long
Thanks for the update!
Whats your thought on Goverment newly proposed line in NCR between Faridabad Bata chowk to Gurgaon Sec-45 .. And Dwarka Sec21 to HUDA city centre… via Palam vihar and Gurgaon Railway Station..
Hi, I’ve been hearing about those projects for a long time and it’s quite shameful that the previous & current HR govt didn’t approve a single line during Phase 3. Hopefully they make a move soon so that it can align with Phase 4’s construction.
Have all the trainsets for the pink and magenta line been delivered to the DMRC?
Nope. Otherwise we would have definitely seen something in the local media. I don’t have a current count of the number of received trains, but can try to find out.
How janakpuri-igi section on magenta line can separately be made operational separately with out having approach to kalindi kunj depot.
Hey, construction work has started in this area , please go there and put new images of construction work.
