[Pics] Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line Stations Get Ready for Launch

While the dates of the final inspection by the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) are awaited, here’s a look at some of the stations on the 12.64 km Botanical Garden – Kalkaji Mandir section of Delhi Metro’s new 38.23 km Magenta Line in the 162.5 km Phase 3 project.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation completed signalling tests in early October and received most of the statutory clearances, but hasn’t yet announced which dates it has proposed to the CMRS, whether those have been rejected or accepted, or what they’ve done to expedite the process in making the line operational. There’s been complete silence since their last press release.

Anyhow, this first section of the line includes 9 stations at Kalkaji Mandir, Okhla NSIC, Sukhdev Vihar, Jamia Milia Islamia, Okhla Vihar, Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh, Kalindi Kunj, Okhla Bird Sanctuary and Botanical Garden. While Kalkaji Mandir is underground, all other stations are elevated –

Only thing spoiling the look of the stations is the posters on the piers.

There’s a special place in hell for people who do that. Such a menace.

Yup. Totally in agreement. As a matter of fact even poster sticking should be brought under swach bharat abhiyan and offenders be prosecuted under relevant laws.

The CMRS inspection for this stretch will take place from 15.11.2017 to 17.11.2017. Confirmation has come from the Office of the CMRS. Hopefully, the section will open soon after that. This is confirmed news.
