When the complete magenta line open

    • TMRG says:

Depends primarily on when signalling tests are over. I can’t predict or offer any additional insight on when this will happen and neither can the DMRC. I’d recommend waiting for the DMRC’s announcement.

  2. Shikhar says:

What is the status of trials at Janakpuri West to Airport section?

  3. Siddhant Kumar says:

Have trial runs started till mayur vihar phase 1?

  4. harsh says:

  5. Adi says:

I cant wait for this line to open..its the first metro line that I have seen being built right in front of my eyes for the past 6 years.

  6. Shikhar says:

Hey TMRG, do you know why DMRC didn’t start pink line trials till trilokpuri station on the eastern part, and beyond south campus till moti Bagh station?

    • TMRG says:

Has to do with the track layout and its impact on the efficiency of train operations. Dhaula Kuan and IP Extension both have a train-reversal track facility so that trains can easily switch tracks between the up and down lines. Moti Bagh and Trilokpuri do not.

If Moti Bagh was included in this line’s 1st section, then the DMRC would have been forced to utilize only one pair of tracks between Dhaula Kuan and Moti Bagh. Basically only one train would service that portion and the next train would be able to enter only after the 1st train completely exits, leading to a slow down in the line’s operations.

      • Shikhar says:

Yeah, but they did the same thing for Mandi house- ITO section, for which they amended their laws or something. Why not here? Same thing goes for not extending trials beyond maujpur till shiv vihar

Hi I wanted to know if there are tunnel boring machines being used near rk puram/ Vasant Vihar metro station. As there is something which is creating a really annoying low pitched but really high intensity sound. Would request your help if this is true on how to go about it as I am almost unable to sleep at night. 🙁

  8. Disturbed sleep says:

Thanks that’s really helpful I will check for the other sources from where such sound can leak. Also great work on the website and information have been lurking here for a long time. Kudos !!

What is the expected date of public operations of Majlis Park and Daula Kuan stretch of pink line after Inspection by CMRS. Any delay in seeking time from VVIPs for inauguration ?? Can we expect by 15 March 2018 ??

    • TMRG says:

Hi, DMRC can open the line anytime after complying with the CMRS’ suggestions (if any). After that, it really depends on the availability of local/national ministers. Sorry, but I don’t know (and can’t predict) what’s cooking within different political parties’ offices.

Hey TMRG , just wanted to know the current status of the grey line of delhi metro?

  11. hiten says:

will lajpat nagar to south ex link get started by march 2018?

    • TMRG says:

Testing hasn’t commenced. I imagine testing upto Mayur Vihar will start only after this section opens up.

Has DMRC started construction of FOB between Shivaji Park Metro station (Green Line) & Punjabi Bagh West Metro station (pink line)? I don’t recall seeing any construction happening during my last visit to place in Nov-Dec..

What’s status of FOBs at Dhaula Kuan and Rajouri garden? You got pics to share?

  13. Amit says:

Will there be any connectivity between shivaji park station of green line and punjabi bagh west station od pink line ?

    • Prateek C says:

I don’t think so. Shivaji Park and Punjabi Bagh West stations are quite far apart. There’s no place to build any skybridge as well. I have asked the same question to TMRG as well.

Technically speaking, Punjabi Bagh is a bit near to the new Punjabi Bagh station. So, if you need to access the Pink Line, you have to get down either at Shivaji Park or Punjabi Bagh and take a e-rickshaw or something. I am sure DMRC will make arrangements in deploying feeder transport to and fro the new station.
