6 Bidders for Duhai Depot of Delhi – Meerut RRTS Line

Six construction firms have submitted tenders (bids) to build the Duhai Depot and Workshop (Package 5A) of the 82.15 km Delhi – Meerut (RRTS) Line after officials from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) opened e-tenders today afternoon to reveal its list of bidders.

Duhai Depot lies on the northern-end of 18 km priority corridor section (Sahibabad – Duhai EPE), and along with Modipuram Depot will be used to service and stable the line’s 210 coach Bombardier rolling stock. A smaller stabling yard is planned at Jangpura in Delhi where a few Bombardier train-sets will be stabled overnight for the first few morning services.

• IRCON International Ltd.
• ISGEC Heavy Engineering Ltd.
• Sam (India) Builtwell Pvt. Ltd.
• URC Construction Pvt Ltd.
• Vijay Nirman Company Pvt. Ltd.

The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is complete, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor for building the depot’s structures and infrastructure.

NCRTC invited tenders for this package on January 10, 2020 and expects the assigned contractor to complete work in 730 days (2 years).
