GR Infra & Sam India Bid for Noida Metro Aqua Line’s Extension
GR Infraprojects Ltd. and Sam India Builtwell Pvt. Ltd. are the only two bidders for a 9.605 km extension of Noida Metro’s Aqua Line from Noida Sector-51 to Greater Noida Sector-2, after Noida Metro Rail Limited (NMRC) opened technical bids today to reveal its list of bidders.
This section is a part of a 14.95 km further extension of the 29.7 km Line-1 from Sector 51 to Knowledge Park V which was approved for construction by Uttar Pradesh government’s cabinet on December 3, 2019.
NMRC had originally invited tenders for this civil package in May with an estimate of Rs. 430.69 crore, and received bids from 3 firms on July 15. In July-end NMRC canceled the tendering process due to administrative reasons with NMRC’s MD Ritu Maheshwari indicating to the TOI that they will “float the tender again as only two respondents surfaced” to get a better response from the construction industry.
NMRC then re-invited tenders for this package in September 2020 with an estimate of Rs. 491.99 crore and expects the assigned contractor to complete work in 24 months from when the contract is awarded.
Contract: NGNC-01
Brief Scope: Part Design and Construction of Elevated Viaduct and 5 elevated stations viz NOIDA SEC -122, NOIDA SEC-123 GR. NOIDA SEC-4 ECOTECH-12 GR NOIDA SEC-2 (excluding Architectural finishing Works and PEB works of stations) from Chainage 0.00 m to Chainage 9605 m of Noida -Greater Noida Metro Rail Project.
The response from the construction industry wasn’t stellar this time either, so let’s see if the tendering process is cancelled again or if the bids are sent for technical evaluation. If the latter happens, then the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders are expected to be opened in Q1 2021 to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.
Back in June, LKT Engineering Consultants Ltd. emerged as the lowest bidder for this section’s Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract. The award of its contract remains unknown, but since their bid was 21% below the estimate, I imagine it was awarded.

They refloated tenders in anticipation of more bidders and still got 2 bids. Yeh toh LOL ho gaya.
Why only 2 bidders?
Bidding teams within infra companies would have done their homework to stay away. Either the calculated profit margin wasn’t enough given the tight deadline of 24 months (most likely) OR they prefer not to work with NMRC OR they prefer not to work in a location far from their regional / home base (least likely).
Anybody knows? When it will be work start? Last 2 years we are only listing the news..
I also listing the sec-4 metro station developed in Gaur Chowk it is confirm?
So what will be the result now , did they are going to open it with two bidders or again this tender will be cancel and reschedule later ? any news or information you have?
