Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) had invited tenders for its construction contract in August 2021 with an estimate of Rs. 526 crore and completion deadline of 30 months.
This contract is being funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB) through a €650 million (approx. Rs. 5600 crore) loan approved in July 2020.
Brief Scope: Construction of elevated viaduct and 5 Nos. elevated station (viz. Baradevi Station, Kidwai Nagar Station, Vasant Vihar Station, Baudh Nagar Station & Naubasta Station) including Architectural Finishing, E&M work and special span from end of ramp (after Transport Nagar Station) to Naubasta Station on Corridor-1 of Kanpur MRTS Project at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. This is the 4th and final section of Line-1 to be tendered out and I expect construction work to start in August. A list of all Phase 1 packages and their contractors can be viewed here.
UPMRC in May awarded SYSTRA with the 8.6 km Line-2’s Detailed Design Consultant contract, so I reckon it’ll be at least another 9 months before a civil tender notice for its construction work is posted.
