RVNL – ISC JV Wins Surat Metro Line-1’s Track Work Contract

Per an industry source, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. – ISC Projects JV in June was declared as the lowest bidder to supply and install standard gauge rails for Surat Metro’s 22.77 km Line-1 connecting Sarthana – Dream City.

This corridor of the 40.35 km Surat Metro Phase 1 with 20 stations is under construction through 4 civil packages (2 elevated: CS1, CS4 and 2 underground: CS2, CS3).

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) had invited tenders (bids) for this systems contract in January 2022 financed by Agence Française de Développement (AFD) with an unknown estimate.

I don’t have bid values for all qualified bidders at this time. If someone does, then leave a comment below or shoot me a message via the Contact page. I’d like to add it in here for record keeping.

Scope: Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Ballastless Track from Sarthana to Dream City in Elevated and Underground Sections Including Connecting Lines to Depot along with Ballasted / Ballastless / Embedded Standard Gauge Track For Corridor-I, Surat Metro Rail Project, Phase – 1

Back in May, GMRC invited bids for track-work on Surat’s 19.26 km Line-2 between Bhesan and Saroli. The current submission deadline is July 14 at 3PM.

What is your opinion on starting of operation? Priority stretch? Can it happen before 2024 general election?

Naah, rolling stock tender is stuck. Like MahaMetro did in Pune, they could bring in an Ahmedabad Metro train for show but that’s the most we could possibly see.
