JMC Launches Kanpur Metro KNPCC-07’s 1st Pier Cap
JMC Projects on Tuesday night erected their first 9.5m wide pier cap in Kidwai Nagar for Kanpur Metro Phase 1 project’s Package KNPCC-07 connecting Transport Nagar Ramp – Naubasta Station.
This feat for 23.785 km Line-1’s second & final 5.427 km elevated package was recorded at pier P-56 which was cast in November and stands roughly 11m tall.
This section’s Rs. 514.61 crore civil construction contract was awarded to JMC Projects in June 2022 by Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC). Its located on the eastern-end of Line-1 and consists of 5 elevated stations at Baradevi, Kidwai Nagar, Vasant Vihar, Baudh Nagar and Naubasta.
This milestone was recorded in roughly 6 months from the award of contract which is similar to what Afcons Infrastructure accomplished on the now operational Package KNPCC-02R connecting IIT Kanpur – Motijheel.
Site conditions vary vastly across the country, but for comparison with other ongoing projects – SNC in Bengaluru took 12 months for the ORR Line’s 1st pier cap, Sam India – Gulermak JV in Delhi took 10 months for Magenta Line’s extension, while Ranjit Buildcon took 7 months for Ahmedabad Metro’s Phase 2 to reach this stage.
