Agra Metro’s 1st Alstom Train Arrives at PAC Depot
Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) today received their first Alstom Movia train-set for the 29.40 km Agra Metro Phase 1 project at PAC Depot in Agra.
The 3-coach train (serial TS-14) was designed at Alstom’s engineering centre in Hyderabad and manufactured at their rolling stock facility in Savli, Gujarat.
This train-set is part of a larger 201 coach rolling stock and signaling contract, combined with Kanpur Metro, awarded to Bombardier Transportation in June 2020 with a value at approximately INR 2051 crore.
Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister had virtually unveiled Agra Metro trains’ final design with yellow stripes in August 2022.
A total of 84 coaches (28 trains with 3 cars each) will be housed at Line-1’s under construction PAC Depot and at Line-2’s Kalindi Kunj Depot in the future.
Work at Line-1’s PAC Depot is fast nearing completion by Lisha Engineers near the underground Taj Mahal Station’s site.
Agra Metro’s trains are essentially the same as Kanpur Metro’s which come with a bright orange color scheme. Each 3 coach train will be able to accommodate approximately 960 passengers.
This is easily my favorite rolling stock design in the country. Delhi’s Movia coaches come next.
In the coming weeks, UPMRCL will assemble the train, conduct static testing within the depot, and dynamic tests on the test track.

For me even titagarh’s Pune trains come close
Those look quite nice too! Minor gripe: front motor coach has 2 stripes going across the front, seems unnecessary.
