Afcons Casts Delhi Metro Silver Line Airforce Shaft’s Base Slab

Afcons Infrastructure on Friday night poured concrete to cast the 1st base slab for the Airforce TBM Launch Shaft of Delhi Metro’s 23.622 km Silver Line which will connect Aerocity – Tughalakabad via 16 stations.

Afcons had started construction work on Delhi Metro Phase 4‘s Package DC-07 in April 2022 and lowered their first reinforced cage to form the shaft’s diaphragm wall (D-wall) in June 2022.

This shaft is located near Sangam Vihar Station and will be used to commission two tunnel boring machines this summer. One of them is Robbins TBM 372 which passed factory acceptance tests (FAT) in Gurgaon’s Sector 74 this February.
