Apurvakriti Wins Mumbai Metro Line-4’s Track Work Contract CA-161

September 26, 2023 Update: MMRDA has awarded LOA contract to Apurvakriti Infrastructure (AIPL) for Line 4 & 4A’s track work.

June 10, 2023 Original Post: Apologies, this contract’s financial bid opening totally escaped my radar!

Apurvakriti Infrastructure back in April-end was declared as the lowest bidder to supply and install ballastless tracks for Mumbai Metro’s 32.32 km Line-4 and 2.88 km Line-4A (Green Line) connecting Wadala – Kasarvadavali – Gaimukh through 34 elevated stations.

Tracks from this contract (Package CA-161) will be installed at Line 4 & 4A’s 15.77 km northern section between Mulund Fire Station and Gaimukh. A tender notice for Line-4’s southern section (Wadala – Mulund Fire Station) is still pending.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) had invited bids for this contract in January 2023 with an unknown estimate and 2 year installation deadline. Technical bids were opened in March to reveal 5 bidders.

MMRDA’s estimate remains unknown, so I can’t really provide an assessment on the possibility of a contract getting awarded to Apurvakriti.

Back in February, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (JSPL) was declared as the lowest bidder to supply 9800 MT of head-hardened rails. A re-tender notice is still pending for Line-4’s 234 coach rolling stock contract, which was terminated by Alstom Transport in early 2022, so operations on the Green Line at this time are easily a good 3 years away from starting.

Surprise mmrda invited tender for Mumbai Metro L6 Rolling Stock. I thought they will invite L4 rolling stock tender first.
