14 Bidders for Mumbai Multi Modal Corridor’s 11 Construction Contracts
14 civil engineering firms have submitted a total of 33 bids to construct 96.47 km Phase 1 of the 126 km Virar-Alibaug Multi-Modal Corridor (VAMMC) project after technical bids were opened on Thursday.
This access-controlled highway project by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will connect Navghar and Balavali in Phase 1. It will be developed under 11 packages (MMC-1, MMC-2, MMC-3, MMC-4, MMC-5, MMC-6, MMC-7, MMC-8, MMC-9, MMC-10, MMC-11).
The expressway will consist of 8 to 14 lanes and connect three districts – Raigad, Thane, and Palghar.
MSRDC had invited RfQ applications for its civil construction in April 2023 and opened bids in June 2023 to reveal 28 firms had submitted applications. 18 of those firms qualified to the next RfP round in December 2023. MSRDC then invited price bids from those 18 firms in January 2024 with a construction deadline of 900 days.

Technical evaluation is not required in this round as that’s what the RfQ round was for. Financial bids will most likely be opened only after the Lok Sabha election’s model code of conduct ends. Stay tuned to see who wins each package!
MSRDC on Thursday also opened bids for 179.85 km Jalna – Nanded Expressway and 136.80 km Pune Ring Road projects. Check out each link to see bidder and package information.

You inserted a wrong paragraph above the bidders section. Copy paste from previous post ? 😂
lol yes. I’ve now improved the sentence. RfQ process for all 3 projects was launched in one mega tender:

Does any of these chainnage has undergorund tunnel
First draft of alignment report suggested a 4.75 km tunnel. Not sure if that’s still part of the plans or not
As per the pkg 1 GAD, the tunnel’s quite literally after the starting interchange with NH 48 at Naigaon, starting at around ch. 200m, for about 400 m. Not sure about any others, though.
[I’m mostly interested in packages 7-10, as these include the stretch from Morbe interchange (South end/Pkg 17 end of Virar JNPT spur of DME) through the Mumbai-Pune Eway and up to the interchange with the MTHL]
Data incorrect
Which part? Happy to correct
Destroying eco system on the name of development. Huge loss to konkan forest and wildlife. Go out of green zone, there is lots of baren land in India that need development.
That would defeat the purpose of building it near Mumbai as the whole point is to boost economic growth and reduce logistics cost in the greater Mumbai area.
People who believe this must first move out of MMR and start living in trees with minimal needs. Otherwise such namesake enviornmentalists are found in dozens for a dime !
The ecosystem damage is directly proportional to population. show any place in world where modern, developed, comfortable city exist without touching nature
Even smaller cities like bangalore/hyderabad/chennai already have broad Ring Roads, while here, Mumbai and Pune is yet to get one. It’s a crying shame as far as road planning goes.
You are correct. Is there any update on much delayed East West connector Vikhroli – Ghansoli link road bridge which was earlier in the design stage by N P Bridging of Belgium?
It’s a shame if such projects are shelved by the authorities and Government.
Any update on Karanja rewas bridge
Has anybody noticed how there’s exactly 3 bidders for each package except PKG 1,9.
Recently i was driving on new roads constructed.
Design and Engineering needs a big change.
Roads are having too much of curvatures and because of this at designed speed while driving it gives too much discomfort.
When we are designing new highways and high speeds then we have to eliminate curvatures .
I understand Implementation agency finds lot of difficulty in acquiring land for roads construction.Still we need to do justice on investments.
Hello, How can i get package wise requirement of steel for this project ?
