Structcon Awarded Pune Metro Nigdi Line’s Proof Consultant Contract

Structcon Designs Pvt. Ltd. on Monday was awarded Pune Metro’s Proof Checking Consultant contract by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL or MahaMetro) for the Purple Line‘s 4.52 km viaduct from PCMC to Nigdi’s Bhakti Shakti.

Structcon’s scope of work under Pune Metro Phase 1A‘s Package P1A-PC-01 will involve working closely with Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) – the viaduct’s civil contractor.

The PCMC – Bhakti Shakti metro line’s viaduct will consist of 7 special spans, and Structcon’s role will involve proof checking all detailed structural designs of its substructure (open/pile/well foundation) and superstructure (pier, pier cap, pedestal & any other structure up to pedestal level).

Pune Metro’s Special Spans

7 special spans will be constructed at the following locations:

• Mother Teresa Flyover – 45m
• Mahavir Chowk – 65m
• Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk – 65m
• Khandoba Chowk – 65m
• Tilak Chowk – 45m
• Underpass near Madhukar Pavle Flyover – 55m
• Bhakti Shakti Chowk – 70m

MMRCL had invited bids for this contract in June 2024 with a 2 year deadline. Technical bids were opened on July 1 to reveal 4 bidders – LKT Engineering Consultants, Shirish Patel and Associates Consultants, Spectrum Techno Consultants, and Structcon Designs.

Financial bids of all 4 bidders were opened on July 23. I don’t have bid values for this package, but if someone reading this does then leave a comment below or shoot me a message via the Contact page. I’d like to add it in here for record keeping.

• P1A-C-02: Construction of 4 elevated metro stations at Chinchwad, Akurdi, Nigdi, and Bhakti Shakti – Bidding Underway
• P1A-PC-01: Proof Checking Consultant for Detailed Structural Design of viaduct: Structcon Designs (this post!)
