Jakson Wins Bangalore Metro Blue Line’s E&M Contract for 28 Stations
Jakson Ltd. was today declared as the lowest bidder for electrical & mechanical contract E&M-6 of Bangalore Metro’s 57 km Blue Line by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL).
This new under construction line of Bangalore Metro’s Phase 2A (ORR Line) and Phase 2B (Airport Line) projects will connect Silkboard – KR Puram – Bengaluru International Airport through 30 stations on the Outer Ring Road and national highway NH-44.
The scope of this critical systems contract includes E&M works at 28 stations (see list for Phase 2A here & here for 2B), 2 traction substations (TSS), and at the roughly 718m cut & cover section adjacent to Yelahanka Air Force Station. E&M works at the Airport City Metro Station (also known as KIA West Station) and KIA Terminals Station will be part of a separate contract.
BMRCL had invited bids for Package E&M-6 in September 2024 with an unknown estimate which I hear might be 183 crore, and a 1.5 year completion deadline.
Technical bids were opened in October to reveal 5 bidders, and technical evaluation was completed on Monday in which Power Mech Projects and Toyota Tsusho India were disqualified.
Financial Bid Values
Firm | Bid (Rs. Crore) |
Jakson Ltd. | 197.04 |
Blue Star Ltd. | 210.18 |
Universal MEP (Voltas’ subsidiary) | 221.99 |
Brief Scope: Electrical and Mechanical Works comprising of LT Panels, LT Cables, Lighting, Hydraulics, Fire Safety Systems, UPS, DG Sets, HVAC and BMS for 28 Nos. of Elevated Stations, 2 Nos. of Way side TSS and Cut-and-Cover section of BMRCL Ph-2A and 2B Project
If BMRCL’s estimate is indeed Rs. 183 crore, then that makes Jakson’s bid of Rs. 197.04 crore roughly 7.6% higher which is negligible, so a contract should be awarded in the coming months without a long financial bid evaluation period.
As shared in the past – with the way things are going, at this time I see Phase 2A opening up no sooner than Q4 2026 and Phase 2B no sooner than Q3 2027.
Like the Yellow Line, the Blue Line will face train-related delays since the first batch of BEML trains from rolling stock contract 5RS-DM will most likely go towards servicing Phase 2’s 21.38 km Pink Line which is in a more advanced stage of construction. The first of 53 trains from BEML’s local Bengaluru complex in CV Raman Nagar is expected to roll out in Q4 2025 – view design here.
A list of all civil and systems contractors can be viewed here for Phase 2A and here for Phase 2B.

Bruh stop being so negative, P2B is opening sooner than P2A, cuz NCC owns all the 3 Packeges. At first, the Airport-Hebbal route will be done in Jun-Jul 2026, and Hebbal-KJM route in Dec 2026
Yeah. Just like how yellow has been opening since March this year.
There is a difference between what govt says and what actually ends up happening.
He’s been more accurate over the past few years with metro completion (And start of construction) times than most other infra enthusiasts so I’ll take what he says
Jishnu – First few trains from BEML will go towards operationalizing Pink Line. I’d say the first 10 train-sets. That line has a higher priority than Airport-Hebbal, so June-July 2026 is unlikely.
There is no way that Hebbal to KR Puram will open after two months of the airport line opening . The line is being built in a slow pace, they will probably take another year after the airport line to open this maybe by mid or late 2027
Faulty plan.. for connecting to Nagavara instead of Hebbal.. Connect Hebbal to Majestic and extend to Channasandra via Katriguppe and RR nagar
Very happy to know Jakson group being awarded this blue line track..😊💐👏
