RVNL Awarded Delhi Metro Saket – Lajpat Nagar Line’s Contract D2C-02

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) on Monday was awarded a Rs. 447.42 crore contract for the civil construction of Delhi Metro Golden Line‘s 8.385 km spur connecting Saket G-Block and Lajpat Nagar by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

This contract for Package D2C-02 is the very first one for Delhi Metro’s Line-11 which was approved by India’s Central Government in March 2024 under the 112.32 km Delhi Metro Phase 4 project.

Line-11’s construction will be carried out under two packages. The first package D2C-02 involves construction of a 7.298 km viaduct from chainage 1202.782m to chainage 8501.25m, and the platform level of 7 elevated stations at Pushp Vihar, Saket District Court, Pushpa Bhawan, Chirag Delhi, GK-1, Andrews Ganj and Lajpat Nagar.

Here’s a copy of RVNL’s announcement to the NSE & BSE:

DMRC had invited bids for D2C-02 in January 2025 with a Rs. 456.06 crore estimate and 36 month (3 year) deadline. Technical bids were opened in May 2025 to reveal 5 bidders out of which the bids submitted by Sam India Builtwell and Ceigall India were strangely found technically non-compliant and subsequently disqualified.

If someone reading this has PNC’s bid value, then drop a comment below. I’d like to add it in for record keeping.

DMRC’s Brief Scope: Part Design and Construction of Viaduct of Length 7.298 kms. from Chainage 1202.782 m to Chainage 8501.25 m including seven (07) stations (Only platforms) namely Pushp Vihar, Saket District Court, Pushpa Bhawan, Chirag Delhi, GK-1, Andrews Ganj and Lajpat Nagar including Pre-Engineered Building Structure in all stations of Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block Corridor of Delhi MRTS Phase-IV Project

All stations’ exact location has been marked out on Google Maps over here.

As shared in the past – DMRC has modified the line’s alignment through Saket and Pushp Vihar several times over the past 10 years. I’ve documented older iterations of it over here.

The concourse level of this spur’s stations will be built under a separate package and located adjacent to the platforms, somewhat similar to how Kailash Colony Station on the Violet Line is built. All stations except for Pushp Vihar (140m long) will have a length of just 74m which will allow the operation of just 3-coach trains.

With this development, I expect basic ground work to begin towards the end of September with full fledged construction work starting in November. A list of Delhi Metro Phase 4’s civil & system contracts and their status can be viewed here.
