Patil Rail Awarded Delhi Metro Silver Line’s Track Fastening Contract DT-09

Patil Rail Infrastructure (PRIPL) earlier this month was awarded a Rs. 52.16 crore contract for supplying the ballastless track fastening system for Delhi Metro’s Silver Line (Line-10).

Delhi’s new 23.6 km long Silver Line will connect Aerocity – Tughlakabad via 16 stations. Its civil construction in the 65.1 km Delhi Metro Phase 4 project is currently underway via 3 underground packages (DC-07 by Afcons, DC-08 by J Kumar & DC-09 by L&T) and 1 elevated package DC-04 by YFC Projects.

The line will be equipped with ballastless standard gauge tracks which will be installed by a different contractor via Package DT-10. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had invited bids for its fastening system (DT-09) consisting of 152,500 anchors in July 2023 with a 2 year deadline.

Pandrol Rahee Technologies was the only other bidder for this contract, and lost out after placing a bid of Rs. 56.19 crore.

DMRC’s Brief Scope: Supply of Fastening System (60000 sets 04 Anchor System and 92500 Sets 02 Anchor System) for Ballastless Track for Line10 (Aerocity to Tughlakabad).

DMRC is chipping away at Silver Line’s system contracts. Back in August 2022, they awarded its UIC-60 turnouts and scissor crossover contract (Package DT-07) to Voestalpine VAE VKN India.

That said, a retender notice is still pending for the line’s track-installation work (Package DT-10). DMRC had invited bids for it in July 2023, but abruptly cancelled it in August without offering a reason.

Late last month Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. (KPIL) was declared as the lowest bidder for the line’s 25 kV AC OHE traction contract (Package DE-08). A list of all Phase 4 packages and their contractors / status can be viewed here.
