5 Bidders for Delhi Metro’s E&M at Sarita Vihar & Ajronda Depots
Five firms have submitted bids for electrical & mechanical works (DE-12) related to augmenting Delhi Metro’s Sarita Vihar and Ajronda Depots, after the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) opened technical bids on June 15.
This package of the 65.1 km Phase 4 project is part of 44 civil & system packages that are being funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) through a Rs. 8,390 crore loan.
Its execution will enable DMRC to repurpose Sarita Vihar Depot for stabling and maintaining 9 trains of the upcoming 23 km Silver Line (Aerocity – Tughlakabad) and maintain train-servicing capacity of the Violet Line through the expansion of Ajronda Depot.
DMRC invited bids for this small package in May with an estimate of Rs. 16.57 crore and completion deadline of 27 months.
Bidders:
- Blue Star
- ETA Engineering
- Ethos Power
- Shyam Indus
- Sudhir Power Projects
Package: DE-12
Brief Scope: Design, Verification, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of E and M works, Fire Detection, Fire Suppression System, EOT Crane, Compressor and VAC for Augmentation works of Ajronda and Sarita Vihar Depots of Phase-IV of Delhi MRTS.
The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.
This is likely the last package for augmenting both depots. Here’s how DMRC’s team of contractors and consultants looks like:
Package & Scope | Contractor/Status |
DDC for both depots | Kirti Structural Consultants |
DC-26: Sarita Vihar Depot’s Civil Remodel + Ramp to DC-07’s tunnels | YFC Projects |
DC-25: Ajronda Depot’s Civil Remodel | Ghaziabad Mechfab |
DT-11: Track-work within both depots | Paras Railtech |
DE-02: Electrification of both depots | Salasar Techno Engineering Pvt. Ltd. |
DE-12: Electrical & Mechanical works at both depots | Technical bid evaluation underway (this post!) |

Will silver line ever get a depot of its own ? Is it planned or proposed?
I mean a seperate depot.
A dedicated depot was planned at Rangpuri, south-west of Vasant Kunj. I don’t see it being mentioned in any tender document, so most likely dropped due to its environmentally sensitive location in the Aravalis.
In that case, dont see a depot for this line unless its extended to noida in future, if that is on the cards.
