Texmaco Rail & Engineering this Tuesday officially began track laying activities for the Delhi Metro Magenta Line (Line-8)’s 28.92 km Janakpuri West – RK Ashram extension between chainage 2814.677m to 30061.24m.

Standard gauge rails (1435 mm) from Package DT-08 of Delhi Metro Phase 4 project will be installed by Texmaco at the viaduct of elevated packages DC-01A (Keshopur – Mangolpuri), DC-01 (Mangolpuri – Haiderpur-Badli Mor), DC-03R (Haiderpur-Badli Mor – Derawal Nagar), and inside the twin tunnels of underground package DC-05 (Derawal Nagar – RK Ashram).

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had awarded Texmaco Rail & Engineering with Package DT-08’s Rs. 117.08 crore in January 2024 after it was declared as the lowest bidder among 4 contenders in December 2023.

Back in September, Paras Railtech started track-work activities inside the Magenta Line’s 2.03 km underground Package DC-06 connecting Janakpuri West – Krishna Park Extension. That’s the only section not included in DT-08’s scope which includes roughly 92% of the Magenta Line’s new route.

DetoxTraveller 2 weeks ago posted a video on YouTube showing the physical progress made on the Magenta Line’s extension between Krishna Park Extension and Pitampura, which is part of Package DC-01A under construction by HG Infra Engineering and Package DC-01 under construction by CCECC – KEC JV.
