Golden Line Information
Delhi Metro’s Golden Line (Line-10) is a 23.622 km under construction metro line connecting Aerocity – Tughalakabad through 15 metro stations (4 elevated & 11 underground).
Delhi Metro’s Golden Line is being built under the 85.85 km Delhi Metro Phase 4 project by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). Its mostly underground route consists of 1 elevated civil package (DC-04) and 3 underground civil packages (DC-07, DC-08 & DC-09).
Golden Line was approved by India’s Central Government in March 2019 with a 20.201 km route length and 15 stations. It was known as Delhi Metro’s Silver Line between 2020-2023, and was renamed to Gold Line in November 2023 and then to Golden Line in January 2024.
Golden Line will be serviced by thirteen 6-coach Alstom trains which were ordered under Package RS-17 in October 2022. Their design was unveiled in February 2024 when manufacturing began.

Golden Line’s Current Status
The first section of Delhi Metro’s Golden Line is expected to open for commercial operations in 2027.
In March 2024, India’s central government approved the construction of 8.385 km Lajpat Nagar – Saket G Block metro line (Line-11) which will likely function as a spur of the Golden Line.
In October 2020, Golden Line’s length was increased likely due to a realignment of the line through the Neb Sarai – IGNOU Road area and extension of the line further eastward towards the Violet Line’s Sarita Vihar Depot which is being repurposed under Package DC-26 by YFC Projects to maintain & stable Golden Line’s rolling stock in the future.
